Another eclectic tour de forcein Thomas Hope’s Duchess Street house was the “Flaxman or Star Room,” created for John Flaxman’s 1790 marble group Aurora and Cephalus. Standing on a table, this clock was “carried by the figure of the goddess Isis, or the moon, adorned with her crescent.”
